On the 11th of November every year in the UK, people commemorate those who have died in the cause of peace and security in conflicts around the world.
Every year BSU is asked by the British Embassy if the school community would like to participate in the Poppy Appeal. This is a collaboration to support the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, which raises money to help war veterans and their families. The ‘Poppy’ is the symbol of remembrance of all veterans of wars since World War One. A service of remembrance is usually held on or close to the 11th of November - the day when the First World War ended.
Poppies are available from the school reception area from now until the morning of Friday 8th November. These are not for sale but a donation is requested.
