Dear Parents and Students,
It is my privilege to welcome you to our school and the 20198 - 2020 academic year. As school opens this year we again celebrate an increase in student numbers, improved levels of attendance and an increase in the number of British Qualified Teachers in our school.
I am delighted to be able to announce that a significant investment in the school over recent weeks has resulted in many improvements to the learning environment and the experience of our students in classrooms.
In addition to introducing new ICT equipment to the dedicated primary and secondary ICT teaching rooms, there are two new classrooms on the third floor and additional books within the school library for students to read and to supplement their learning. New ICT equipment for teachers, additional whiteboards for teaching and learning in classrooms and significant extensions to the connectivity to the internet will also have a very positive impact on the educational experience of our students.
Changes to the curriculum will enable students to continue to follow the British National Curriculum and also experience improvements in the Mongolian Language, history, social and cultural aspects of their education. We are also offering additional Maths at GCSE for those students capable of achieving at this high level and a broader range of subject choices from 14 years to 18 years so that students may follow a bespoke curriculum that supports them in attaining their ambitions for the future.
We are also proud to announce that there will be a dedicated School Doctor on-site during the school day, in a newly created medical area, in addition to the professionally trained First Aiders in school.
I look forward to sharing our examination results for the most recent academic year shortly. In 2018 the examination results were the best in the history of the school. The iGCSE Results were 10% higher than in the previous year with 22% of our 16 year old students achieving the highest grades awarded by the examinations board, A* and A Grades. At ‘A’ Level all our students passed, a 100% pass rate, therefore, with them going on to Higher Education here in Mongolia and also in Australia, Hungary, the UK, and New York (USA). We wish them well for the future. We look forward to them improving again this year.
