Mongolian Curriculum

Here at the British School of Ulaanbaatar we offer the opportunity for Mongolian children to study Mongolian Language, Literature and History. The teaching of these subjects begins in our Primary phase and continues throughout the student’s time at school.

The main aims are to:
  • enable our students to develop an understanding and appreciation of the language and culture
  • give our students an option to extend studies in order to obtain a Mongolian Certificate equivalency at the end of Year 13 (Mongolian system Grade 12)
  • prepare our students to attend universities and colleges within Mongolia
  • educate our students to be ‘patriotic global citizens’ in pursuit of personal excellence in an ever evolving community to become lifelong learners

As our Mongolian students progress through the school they will be asked to make the choice whether or not to take the Mongolian Language examination to gain the equivalency certificate. If a student chooses to work towards the equivalency they will be given additional lessons in Mongolian Language to supplement and enrich the learning needed for the examination in Year 13.
